Trying to decide which Dodge truck is right for you? As you consider which truck is right for you, it will be important to think about exactly what you will use the truck for and how much space you’ll need both for cargo and for passengers.
Ram 1500
The Ram 1500 is the smallest of the Dodge trucks available, but still offers plenty of power, cargo space, and towing capacity to get you and your stuff wherever you need to take it. One of the great things about the Ram 1500 is its gas consumption. It is the best in its class with 27 miles per gallon highway. It has a solid drive range of up to 702 miles, making it a fantastic truck to take on a road trip.
There are three cab options to choose from with the Ram 1500, depending on how many people you need to carry as well as how much space you need in the truck bed.
The crew cab seats up to six people and offers two different bed sizes, five-feet, seven-inches or the larger six-feet, four-inches. The quad cab has hinged doors in the cab to allow you to easily get in and out. It seats up to six people and offers cargo space of six-feet, four-inches. The third cab size is the regular cab, which has only two doors and seats up to three passengers. This allows you to have up to eight-feet of cargo space in the rear.
Ram 2500
The Ram 2500 is slightly larger than the Ram 1500, but still offers plenty of comforts and good gas mileage. Under the hood, you’ll get a huge 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo diesel I-6 engine with up to 800 pound-feet of torque. You can also upgrade to the 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine with an excellent 410 horsepower, which is best in class.
With all of this power, the Ram 2500 is one of the best options for towing. It has a maximum towing capacity of 16,320 pounds. If you opt for the diesel engine, you can tow up to 17,000 pounds.
Ram 3500
The Ram 3500 is a fantastic choice if you need to do some heavy-duty work, but don’t want to commit to the heavy-duty Ram 4500. It has the same engine as the Ram 2500, but a stronger 900 pound-feet of torque, allowing you to tow up to 31,210 pounds while still hauling up to 7,390 pounds in your pick-up.
The Ram 3500 has tons of available features that make it not only a fantastic hauling vehicle but a comfortable one filled with great technology. Upgrade to the cargo-view camera, so that you can keep an eye on your rear cargo. You can also get a rear back-up camera to help you park or pull out, even when you have a truck full of cargo.
Whether you’re looking for a truck that can carry a small load like the Ram 1500, you need more cargo space such as the in Ram 2500, or you plan to tow a lot of cargo with the 3500, there is a Dodge Ram truck to suit your needs and price range.
